Fresh look
Got some painting done so now she is just about ready for fun this summer. The decks are now the same creamy tan as the interior. I like the contrast better than with the green decks. I hope it will … Continue reading

Spring cleaning
Oh how I wish the spring winds would stay around for summer when the water temperature is warmer. It has been just a bit too windy to risk going out until the water warms up some. Too bad 😦 But … Continue reading

A functional rudder
I spent all day on the rudder and tiller today. As it sits now I should have a fully functional sailboat. With the main sail done and the rudder complete I could – but I won’t ’til the rudder is … Continue reading

Finished paint
I’ve finished up the paint over the past week or so. What do you think of the colors? The floorboards need paint yet. Getting closer to a launch day!

Ready to roll
I got the boat off the strongback and onto the trailer today. I had to make one minor adjustment to the height of one of the rollers and fine adjust the bunks. She fits the trailer well, I think. The … Continue reading

Out with the old – In with the new
Well, I retired my old FG sailboat. I took her off the trailer and stored her out behind the barn for now. Kinda sad in a way, but exciting too. Not sure if I’ll want to keep her yet or not. … Continue reading

Coaming
Now the decks have been glassed and the coaming installed. The purple skirt will be gone for good soon. A little sanding and paint and a few more loose ends to tie up and she’ll be ready to … Continue reading

Decked out
After wrapping up the flotation, I think… I’ve been getting the decks epoxied down. Every extra little peice that goes on now gets me one step closer to having a complete, usable boat. It’s been a long time coming. It’s … Continue reading

Flotation
Got it through my head that flotation was not so much trouble to add. And it really wasn’t. Just one of those things I guess I found a distasteful job and wasn’t too excited about doing. But in the end it was … Continue reading

Paint – for real
Got some color on the hull today. The color is a close match to the Kirby’s color I had picked. This is just a bit greener – the Kirby’s green/gray sometimes looks green and sometimes blue depending on the light. … Continue reading
